SHINee Showcase

Back from SHINee's showcase on Sunday 14 March. Was no difference from a zombie when the whole event finally ended on the 14th March. Days of sleepless nights finally paid off with the three hits performed by SHINee at the IMM open garden.

After meeting up with Gracia at Admiralty, we went IMM for lunch. When we just arrived there, we checked out the open garden for fans who might queue then. Saw a bunch of young teenagers and thought they were fans of SHINee. Anyway headed back home after lunch at LJS because we decided it was just way too early to start queueing.

In the evening, Gracia felt unsafe and that more people might have already arrived to start queueing. There we decided to just head to IMM to see if there were really people. When we walked our way out into the open garden, we passed two fans sitting outside Bagus. After some strolling, Jessica (one of the two outside Bagus) came up to ask and asked us if we were queueing.

There, we joined their queue and became the second group behind them. Dinner was bread and biscuits plus plain water because we had insufficient cash. Sad thing huh? We both brought 50 bucks each and thought there was no problem initially. Who knows Warner music Singapore suddenly removed price of the album on their facebook making us panic and worried for the price of the album. To make safe, we survived on these food that made us feel bloated and indigestion. That was terrible! These food accompanied us from Thursday till sat morning!

Thursday night ended with three groups of SHINee fans who started queueing overnight. When IMM closed for operation on Thursday, we were asked to move outside to continue with our queue. Night spent outside the Fish&Co. side entrance was still not too bad. Jang Guen Suk's fans also queued beside us on Thursday night.

Finally, Thursday night was spent chatting with the other SHINee's fans. There i realised Yuexiu was an extreme Jaejoong fan! She said she spent a few thousands on his merchandise! She totally adore his chest!!! XD XD

Friday came finally. The long great morning and afternoon passed super slow. As we sit outside under the sun waiting Saturday to come, more fans arrived and started to join the queue. Unfortunately in the afternoon, a small shower caused us to hid in the staircase landing because there were totally no shelter.

By night time, the number of fans arrived slowly grew. It was such a relieve since there were only about 100 plus fans by Friday midnight. Probably due to fans waiting for SHINee at the airport, the number of fans outside IMM only started getting more by late midnight. By 6-7am, there were already about 1000 plus fans outside. Everyone were awaiting the sales of the album at 9am.

That day's night was spent resting and chatting with other fans. One of the girl in the group behind us were also fans of SJ. Rar, a SJ fan, even bought the crackers that SJ ans SHINee endorsed! Was so envious at those wrappers! :D Totally wanted that! The group of fans behind us in the queue were extreme fans of SJ and SHINee. One even went all the way to Taipei for SS2! How i wish i had that ability too. But anyway hope SJ will consider Singapore someday. :)

Clock finally ticked 9am and everyone were so excited. Luckily the album was priced at $35 unchanged. Security guards brought us directly to the open garden from a staircase outside the IMM mall. Fans were brought in twenties by twenties. When we the first twenty reached upstairs, we saw a group of people in front of us in the queue of the buying of the album. Then we realised these 20 people were the "lucky readers" who can get exclusive entry rights to the event. This was just unfair! We people queued right from Thursday yet were still not among the first...

In any case we chiong-ed down right after getting the album and queued right outside the staircase where we first entered to get to the open garden. Then Warner music person in charge told us to go home and not wait anymore since we already got the album. However problem was that the ticket was like "FREE STANDING" and this was like of course must queue since it doesn't guarantee anything like you can stand at the front.

Then a verbal agreement was made between the fans and the management that we organise the fans into a list and on Sunday morning before the showcase, we will get into this queue and go into the open garden. We moved to the loading and unloading bay to get the list of people in order. Then the day ended with us returning home to rest and others heading to the "e awards ceremony" at The Float@Marina Bay.

Did not sleep an entire night from Saturday till Sunday except for an hour and a half. Gracia said she was sure people will rush down from the float on Saturday to IMM to queue for the showcase. Headed to IMM at an early time of 5am plus. When we reached there, was super shocked and upset to see twenty fans in front of the open garden entrance. Security guards said "this was the official queue" and is based on a "first-come, first-serve basis".

That was ridiculous! Who was the one who promised us to follow the original queue arranged on Saturday after getting the albums?! Who tricked us into going home and then went back on their words?! You people know how much time we spent queueing since Thursday just to be in the front and yet now people with queue numbers 900 plus were in front of us?! Totally can't believe our luck! How can the organisers be so irresponsible?! It's like cheating and betraying!

This incident totally made me lose faith in the organisers. First time was the door-breaking incident in LotOne. Then now was the queue cutting at IMM. Don't want to say this but it really sucks. It's like cheating on the trust fans put in you guys. Pushing the responsibility between you and the IMM management does not mean we do not know. Going back on your words loses your credibility in the future. I'm totally speechless. Yea you people have the rights to change your decisions, your words anytime. It's true that we fans can only follow these words because you people are bringing the boys to us. But remember, you loses the trust your customers put in you. Disappointments twice is enough.

Unhappiness aside, SHINee arrived only 2pm plus. KEY WAS AMAZINGLY GOOD-LOOKING!!! Attention was on him all time! Though we were squeezing with people, feeling upset and unjust inside us, it was still great to see the boys. Cheers flooded the garden when they came on stage. Unfortunately, the big rain caused the garden to be even more squeezy since more than a thousand fans had to squeeze into the limited space in order to be under shelter.

SHINee brought the atmosphere to the peak with performances "nuna nomu yepo" continued with "JoJo". After that fans also sang Happy Birthday song in Korean for an advanced birthday celebration for Jonghyun. "Ring Ding Dong" was the favourite. Can't believe my eyes when they danced to this song in front of us. During the half an hour showcase, questions were also answered by the boys. Jonghyun and Minho even put up aegyo in front of the fans.

The showcase ended really fast. No encore was given, probably due to their busy schedules? The boys left in umbrellas and then slowly the open garden began to clear. Second time seeing SHINee in Singapore is great. Though there will always be unhappy incidents, fans seems to be able to forget them temporary when SHINee appeared. Sunday was definitely a great day. :)
